A person at home with cold symptoms

Visit details

Describe what is going on, and photos are welcome for skin concerns. Charles takes a history, asks the questions an in-office visit would, and decides whether this can be treated by video or needs an in-person look.

If treatment is appropriate, any authorized prescription is sent to your chosen pharmacy. Pharmacy processing, stock and insurance approval can affect when it is available. If it cannot, you hear that plainly along with where to go.

Patient Questions

Questions about urgent care.

All Patient Questions
Can a sore throat be assessed without an in-person examination?

We can review symptoms and risk factors by video, but a strep or other test may be needed before deciding on treatment.

How do you decide if sinus symptoms need antibiotics?

Duration, severity and symptom pattern matter. Many sinus infections are viral and improve without antibiotics.

Can you evaluate pink eye through video?

We can review redness, discharge and related symptoms, but pain, light sensitivity or vision changes need prompt in-person eye evaluation.

What if I have fever but do not know the cause?

We assess the pattern, associated symptoms and risk factors. Testing or an in-person examination may be necessary, especially if symptoms are severe or persistent.

Can nausea, vomiting or diarrhea be discussed in an urgent visit?

Yes, if symptoms are mild and you can stay hydrated. Severe pain, blood in stool, fainting or signs of significant dehydration require prompt in-person assessment.

Can you help with seasonal allergies that suddenly get worse?

Yes. We can review triggers, nasal or eye symptoms and treatment options. Breathing difficulty or throat swelling requires emergency care.

What if I suspect a urinary tract infection but have back pain or fever?

Those symptoms can indicate a more serious infection and may require prompt in-person evaluation and urine testing, rather than video-only treatment.

Can mild insect bites or minor skin reactions be reviewed?

Yes. Clear photos may help determine whether supportive care, medication or in-person assessment is warranted. Rapid swelling or breathing symptoms require emergency care.

Do I need a test for flu or COVID-19 before an urgent visit?

Not always. We review symptom timing, risk factors and any available home results to determine whether testing or time-sensitive treatment is appropriate.

Can you reassess an illness if my symptoms worsen after a video visit?

Yes, but rapidly worsening or severe symptoms should be evaluated promptly in person rather than waiting for a routine follow-up.

Can you provide follow-up after an emergency-room or urgent-care visit?

Yes. A follow-up visit reviews what happened, checks how you are doing, reconciles any new medications and arranges further testing or referrals if needed.

Can I use telehealth for sick or urgent-care visits?

Yes. Sinus infections, sore throats, UTIs, rashes, pink eye and stomach bugs can often be evaluated by video. Check the scheduler for available appointments, including same-day openings when offered.

What types of symptoms require an in-person evaluation?

Symptoms that need a hands-on exam, imaging right away, stitches, a procedure or close monitoring. Examples include a possible broken bone, a deep cut, severe abdominal pain and some pelvic symptoms.

When should I go directly to urgent care or the emergency room?

Call 911 or go to the ER for new or unexplained chest pain or pressure, severe trouble breathing, signs of stroke, major injury, uncontrolled bleeding, severe dehydration or thoughts of harming yourself or others. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988 any time.

Good to know

Services, screening recommendations, testing, treatment options, referrals and prescribing may vary with your age, medical history, symptoms, where you are physically located at the time of the visit, state and federal requirements, insurance requirements, and whether your condition can be safely managed by telehealth. Conditions and services listed here are examples. An appointment does not guarantee a particular diagnosis, a prescription, a controlled medication, hormone therapy, a lab order, an imaging study, a sleep study, a specialist referral, an accommodation letter or a particular treatment. Treatment decisions follow a clinical evaluation and the provider’s judgment.
