Hormones, prostate and screening

Men’s Health by telehealth

Sexual health, testosterone, prostate symptoms and the screenings men put off can all start with a private video visit. Testing comes before treatment decisions.

Visit details

Hormone-related concerns start with a conversation and clinically appropriate lab work. Medication or hormone-related therapy may be prescribed or managed when the evaluation and testing support it and applicable rules allow.

Visits also cover the everyday risks: blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and weight.

More Than a Video Visit

Your care doesn’t end when the video visit ends.

Wade’s Care First is a full medical practice delivered through telehealth. When it is medically appropriate, we order, prescribe, refer and coordinate the services you would expect from a traditional outpatient practice.

Patient Questions

Questions about men’s health.

All Patient Questions
Can erectile dysfunction be an early sign of another health condition?

Sometimes. Blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, medications and stress can contribute. An assessment looks beyond the symptom itself.

Why might a testosterone level need to be checked more than once?

Testosterone levels vary with time of day and between tests. Diagnosis of testosterone deficiency requires compatible symptoms and consistently low results; a low result is generally confirmed with another morning blood test before treatment is considered.

Could treating low testosterone affect future fertility?

Yes. Testosterone therapy may suppress sperm production. Discuss plans for children before considering treatment.

Can enlarged prostate symptoms be evaluated by telehealth?

We can discuss frequency, weak stream, nighttime urination and other symptoms, although testing or an in-person examination may be necessary.

Should I have a PSA screening test?

The decision depends on age, risk factors, family history and your preferences after discussing potential benefits and harms.

Can high blood pressure or diabetes affect sexual health?

Yes. These conditions and their treatments can influence sexual function, making broader health assessment important.

What if I am fatigued but my testosterone is normal?

We may explore sleep, thyroid problems, anemia, mood, medication effects and other causes rather than assuming a hormonal problem.

Can men’s health visits include STI screening discussions?

Yes. We can discuss risk-based screening and arrange testing when clinically appropriate.

Can sleep apnea affect hormone symptoms or sexual health?

Sleep disorders may contribute to fatigue and other symptoms. Snoring or daytime sleepiness may warrant further evaluation.

What male urinary or genital symptoms need urgent care?

Sudden testicular pain needs immediate emergency evaluation because conditions such as torsion are time-sensitive. Inability to urinate, severe pain or fever with significant illness also needs prompt in-person care; do not wait for a routine video visit.

Can you refer me for a colonoscopy or other colorectal cancer screening?

Yes. Depending on your age, history and risk, options include a colonoscopy referral or a stool-based test such as FIT. We help choose the right option and follow up on the result.

Good to know

Services, screening recommendations, testing, treatment options, referrals and prescribing may vary with your age, medical history, symptoms, where you are physically located at the time of the visit, state and federal requirements, insurance requirements, and whether your condition can be safely managed by telehealth. Conditions and services listed here are examples. An appointment does not guarantee a particular diagnosis, a prescription, a controlled medication, hormone therapy, a lab order, an imaging study, a sleep study, a specialist referral, an accommodation letter or a particular treatment. Treatment decisions follow a clinical evaluation and the provider’s judgment.
