Orders go local

Labs, imaging and pharmacies near Jacksonville.

When blood work is needed, the order goes to a lab you choose. Check with your chosen lab about appointments and walk-in availability. If you already use Baptist, UF Health or Mayo Clinic, outpatient hospital labs can take outside orders too. For imaging, Akumin runs outpatient centers in Arlington, Northside, Riverside and the University area, and SimonMed has a Kennerly Road location, so X-rays, ultrasound, CT or MRI usually do not require a hospital visit. Prescriptions go electronically to any Publix, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart or Winn-Dixie pharmacy you pick, and Agape Community Health Center offers sliding-fee care if cost is a barrier.

Blood work

Quest Diagnostics and Labcorp list Jacksonville collection sites. Quest lists a location at 5960 Beach Boulevard. Confirm the location’s services, appointment requirements and insurance participation before visiting; hospital outpatient labs may have additional requirements for outside orders.

Imaging

Akumin outpatient centers in Jacksonville (Arlington, Northside on Dunn Ave, Riverside on Roosevelt Blvd, University) plus Orange Park and Fleming Island, offering MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, DEXA and 3D mammography; SimonMed Imaging’s Jacksonville location; hospital imaging at Baptist Health, UF Health and Mayo Clinic.

Pharmacies

Publix, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and Winn-Dixie all operate pharmacies in the Jacksonville area.

Before you go, confirm the requested test, outside-order acceptance, insurance, collection fees and hours with the facility. These resources are examples, not a complete directory. Quest Location Finder · Labcorp Location Finder.

Good to know

Services, screening recommendations, testing, treatment options, referrals and prescribing may vary with your age, medical history, symptoms, where you are physically located at the time of the visit, state and federal requirements, insurance requirements, and whether your condition can be safely managed by telehealth. Conditions and services listed here are examples. An appointment does not guarantee a particular diagnosis, a prescription, a controlled medication, hormone therapy, a lab order, an imaging study, a sleep study, a specialist referral, an accommodation letter or a particular treatment. Treatment decisions follow a clinical evaluation and the provider’s judgment.

Getting care in Jacksonville

Florida’s largest city by population, a consolidated city-county on the St. Johns River with a large military and health-care workforce.

If you live in Jacksonville, a video visit covers most primary care, mental health, ADHD follow-up, weight management and minor urgent problems without a drive across the river or the Buckman Bridge. Charles Wade, FNP-BC, sees you by video and sends any orders to places near you. Jacksonville has deep hospital resources, including UF Health Jacksonville’s Level I trauma center downtown, Baptist Medical Center and Wolfson Children’s, Mayo Clinic Hospital on San Pablo Road, Ascension St. Vincent’s and HCA Florida Memorial.

Telehealth does not replace those for emergencies. It works best for the steady work in between: refills, lab review, new symptoms that do not need hands-on exams, and conditions you can describe and show on camera.

Access in Duval County

Florida’s uninsured rate for people under 65 was 13.6% in 2024 versus 9.8% nationally (KFF, ACS 1-year); all-ages uninsured was 10.9%, ranking 45th among states (America’s Health Rankings, ACS 2024). As of January 1, 2026, Florida had 320 primary care HPSAs and 239 mental health HPSAs, and would need 1,434 more primary care practitioners and 545 more mental health practitioners to eliminate them (Florida Senate analysis of SB 1480, 2026). Hurricane season continuity: during qualifying emergencies, ask your pharmacist and insurer about early refills under Florida law; authorized refills and other coverage requirements still apply.

Who this helps most in Jacksonville

This fits Jacksonville adults and families who want one consistent clinician for primary care, mental health, ADHD, weight, sleep or skin concerns, and who find it hard to leave work or arrange childcare for office visits. It also helps older adults on the Westside, Northside or Beaches managing blood pressure, diabetes or thyroid conditions with periodic labs. Go in person instead when you need a physical exam, a procedure, stitches or an X-ray the same hour. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department, such as UF Health Jacksonville, Baptist, Mayo Clinic or St. Vincent’s, for chest pain, stroke symptoms, trouble breathing, severe bleeding or thoughts of harming yourself.

Local health considerations

  • About 168,800 Duval County residents (roughly 16%) were 65 or older in 2024, so chronic-disease follow-up and medication review matter for a large group (USAFacts, Census estimates).
  • Summer heat: NWS flags older adults, young children, pregnant women and people with chronic conditions or on certain medications as highest risk for heat illness.
  • Hurricane season: ask your pharmacist and insurer about early refills under F.S. 252.358 during a qualifying emergency. Authorized refills and other coverage requirements still apply; plan ahead when possible.
